A Bursary with Meaning
The Mick Tevlin Memorial Student Bursary has been established to honour the memory and legacy of Mick Tevlin, who served on the Board of Directors of Kilrush Credit Union for over 20 years. It is more than financial support — it is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to education, opportunity and the community values Mick stood for.
Mick was a steadfast supporter of the credit union ethos and a firm believer in the power of community. Throughout his years of service, he championed initiatives that supported young people — particularly in education and in taking their first steps towards building their future.
He was a familiar and welcoming presence at our annual school quiz, where he volunteered his time year after year, always encouraging and supporting the students who took part. For Mick, supporting young people wasn’t just a policy — it was personal. He believed in giving them every opportunity to grow, learn and succeed.
It is in that spirit that this bursary was created. By supporting local students as they progress in their education, we continue the work that Mick cared so deeply about — investing in young people and strengthening our community for the future.
